The Big Day I'll Never Forget

There are always different things that stick out in my mind as memorable events in my life, but few will ever compare to the birth of our first child. He was what we had prayed and hoped for over the previous years. It was finally happening. I was going to me a mom. We found out the day before his arrival that Thursday would be the day. I did what you do when you find out your life will never be the same.......cleaned house, folded clothes, got my hair done, sorted out my life and became a little anxious. That day was exhilirating, nerve racking, exhausting, joyous, surreal and so much more all wrapped up into one. I can still picture the room we were in and where everyone was standing when we heard him cry and laid eyes on him for the first time.

I am not sure what all the reasons are for God giving us our only boy six years ago today, but I know there are many and most probably have nothing to do with me. Oh to be sure, God has molded me and shaped me through the little life that was such an easy baby and is now an active and confident six year old. There is so much more to his life, though. God allowed Toads to take his first breath at 10:08 am on Febraury 26th, 2004 and with every breath he testifies to the glory of the One True God, the Creator and Sustainer of life.

I know there will be countless more exhilirating, nerve racking, exhausting, joyous, and surreal days ahead as we train and watch our little boy grow up. I am looking forward to watching them unfold into memorable events as this boy becomes a man.

One of my prayers for him as he walks the journey of life:
That Toads does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But Toad's delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law Toads meditates day and night. That Toads is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever Toads does prospers.
Psalm 1:1-3

Happy Birthday Toads!
I love you.
Mom
